Our well-established Monterey Bay-located water resources and environmental engineering and hydrogeology consulting firm (www.weber-hayes.com) is seeking a full time California Registered Civil/Environmental Engineer with experience in water resources, and/or environmental remediation, and/or stormwater engineering to collaborate with our Engineering Group who focus on these services for a wide range of clients. We are looking for a bright and driven, solution-oriented engineer with excellent communication skills who has at least 5 years of relevant experience. Minimum Requirements

  • Is a California Registered Professional Engineer
  • Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license
  • Currently resides in the California Central Coast region or is willing to relocate for in-office work

Senior Engineer Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Group and manage multiple projects at any one given time, including the preparation and management of project budgets, meeting project deadlines, and ensuring effective client, multiple stakeholder, outside engineering team members, and regulatory agency communication and relations
  • Supervising and directing all aspects of the design and engineering of potable water systems, primarily groundwater-sourced small, disadvantaged and underserved communities – the core work of the Engineering Group – as the Engineer in Responsible Charge
  • Supervising and directing water system construction monitoring and management services
  • Supervising and directing the design, engineering, construction, management, and operation & maintenance of environmental remediation and stormwater management systems
  • Directing and mentoring junior staff

Familiarity with the State Water Board’s Technical Assistance Program and the Drinking/Clean Water State Revolving Fund a plus, but not required, as is California Drinking Water Operator Certification. Knowledge and experience in soil and groundwater remediation is beneficial, but not required.

Compensation

Annual salary starts at $115K to $125K based on experience (plus $20K to $30K per year in profit-sharing bonuses based on performance). Pay increases are based on performance. This position includes medical, dental and prescription plan health benefits, and 401(k) plan with employer match. Other benefits include 9.5 paid holidays per year, paid vacation time, and use of a company vehicle.
